Here I found the dll files for MSXML 3 and 6, but not 4. One solution I found told me to delete the dll for MSXML 4 from the system32 folder. Also tried doing a sfc scan, did not find any errors or corrupt files. These include: booting clean state and trying to install, removing any existing MSXML entries, trying to manually install KB updates (which I can't). I have tried every single solution/workaround that I can possibly find on the internet, all to no avail. I downloaded MSXML 4.0 service pack 2 from the microsoft download center, got to the installing part, and received the error: An error occurred during the installation of assembly component. Once you have done this try the installation again.I am trying to re-install Flight simulator X on my computer, but it threw up an error that upon googling, told me I needed to install MSXML 4.0 on my computer which I tried to do. If it still does not install make sure any installwizard folders are deleted from the common files folder in program files and that no installwizard processes are running.
